Jamshedi Navroji is celebrated as a new year festival by Parsi community on 21st of March. Navroji means new day, it is observed on the first day of Farvardum, (a month in parsi calendar). Preparations for this festival begin many days in advance, News clothes are specially made for the festival & houses are decorated. People visit friends & relatives and wish each other by putting their right hand into the left hand of their friends, saying "Hamafor hama who bed". or "may you be with us at the memory & may you be righteous".
