Id-ul-Fitra (Ramzan Id)
Id-ul-Fitra means the festival of breaking the fast. It is celebrated on the first day of new moon in the month of 'Shawwal', it marks the and of Ramjan. The festival originated when after proclaiming, Ramjan as the period of fasting & austerity, propher Mohammed announceed a day for celebrations to reaffirm the fealing of brotherhood. Id-ul-Zuha -- (Bakri Id)
This is one of the important festival of the muslims. It is called Id-ul-Zuha in Arabic and Bakri--Id in the Indian subcontinent, because of the tradition of sacrificing a great or 'bakar' in urdu. Id-ul-Zuha symbolise the willingness of prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his sun on godi order Id also coincides with the anniversary of the day when 'Quran' was declared complete. It is the from when many muslims undertake Haj to Mecca. Moharrum (Tajiya)
Moharrum marks the beginning of the Islamic Calender, Moharrum is also time for making rows. People pledge their promises to the taziah (Model of Hasrat Iman Hussain). They can do this in 2 days. First is by sending milk, solt drink, dates or sepred to craftsmen, who prepares the taziah. Second is by performing out of self-torture before the taziah.
